When Boscha dumps trash on Willow, Luz challenges Boscha to a grudgby match, surprising everyone. After Amity talks to Luz, she decides to forfeit and Boscha uses her as target practice. However Gus, Willow, and Amity arrive and the girls decide to team up with Luz as Gus cheers from the sidelines. Despite her team gaining more points, Boscha wins after catching the Rusty Smidge.

Soon, King's father starts to fade and gives Luz the last of his magic, warning that it's temporary. Luz and her mother meet up with Willow, Gus, and Hunter and the three fight Kikimora as Luz draws the glyph pattern. Soon, Amity arrives with the students of Hexside and they take on Kikimora as Amity, Willow, and Gus help her with the glyph combination. As the others are happy with their success, Luz introduces them to her palisman, Stringbean. As Luz watches Stringbean play with the other palismen, Luz and Amity joke that Eda King, and Hooty might eat her.

When the three return to the Owl House, they relearn that Lilith has made a scrying potion to spy on the emperor and they order take out. As King reads Luz The Unauthorized Boiling Isles History, she decides to save Eda despite King trying to talk her out of it. After watching a news report that Eda will be petrified, an irreversible process. Luz says it should be Lilith as King explains the severity of one's crimes in order to get petrified.

But upon seeing Amity's shock that she was hiding something so important, Luz, realizing how much trouble was caused by hiding it, breaks the facade. She tells Amity about how her dad would bring flowers for her and her mom on their birthdays, and that after he passed, she and her mom would pick flowers for each other instead, followed by visiting her dad's grave, and spending the day together. She then notes that it is the first year she's not with her mom, and admits to being jealous or needing a distraction when Amity mentioned the problems with her dad.

Later, they team up to help Willow restore her memories after Amity nearly destroys them, but also helps Amity to make amends with Willow and rekindle their friendship. Through the actions of Gus and a slightly repentant Eda, Luz ends up getting accepted into Hexside, but is dismayed to learn that she can only learn from one track. After saving the school from a Greater Basilisk and teaming up with the students of the detention track, for merely trying to learn more than one type of magic, Luz manages to convince Principal Bump to have her take every track, much to her enjoyment.

After questioning their next move, they see the author and chase her to a drainage pipe. When they catch her, they are shocked to discover she is Tinella Nosa and learn that Tibbles found a box of the books on the beach one day and has been trying to sell them, however, Amity was the only person buying the books. As they head back, Amity tries to cheer up a dejected Luz and they decide to turn their book club into a writing club. Upon seeing Willow, Gus, Viney, and Skara, the teenagers explain what they were up to and show Amity and Luz a photo they took earlier in the day with Hunter, shocking both girls. Just then, Vee smells something and she goes to the back room to discover that Jacob is an amateur witch hunter and reverts back to her true form after she gets caught in a trap.
Hunter desires to be accepted by his subordinates, especially Darius, which stems from not having interacted with anyone his own age and being forced into a life of training which he believes was fun, but he is dumbfounded to discover that nobody believes in the Emperor's coven anymore. He soon realizes what it really took to get him to where he is and begins to regret most of his life choices as he realizes that he may have put his new friends in danger. This causes him to choose friendship over leadership and briefly renounces his title, only to finally gain respect from Darius, who gives it back to him. Afterwards, he begins opening up to the idea of making friends with Willow, Gus and possibly Luz, the former of whom he is implied to have developed feelings for.
As Luz starts Hexside, King tags along and starts digging through the trash. As Luz is being reprimanded for supposedly studying multiple tracks by Principal Bump, he claims to not know her when she begs for help. Upon finding a classroom without a teacher, King is mistaken for the teacher and becomes captivated by the power it brings, however, he is kicked out of school by Bump at the end of the day. I think about the sheriff characters, who’s “relationship” was used as a running gag to laugh at. Who’s kiss in the last scene at the end of the series damn near made people go INSANE.

King then admits that while Luz is living out her dream of becoming a witch, his celebrity status is the closest he'll ever get to his dream. After that, the two work together to come up with a plan, and later escape successfully. After Belos kills Luz, Eda's anger was so great that she gained a new Owl Beast form to avenge her. When Luz returns with Titan magic, she is overjoyed at her being alive and she helps Luz defeat Belos.
Gus tells him that people like Luz, Willow and himself are good people who don't have ulterior motives and are trusted. Flying to the castle as evil mold cover over the whole isles, they witness him cover his castle in the form of a giant dragon and begins to once again destroy the isles. She is a human girl who finds herself transported to another world and learns to be a witch under the tutelage of Eda Clawthorne. Luz is good friends with Captain Salty, and possesses a great deal of respect for his skills as a sailor. When the petrifaction starts, Eda shields them, but Luz—who destroyed the portal after handing it to Belos—threatens Kikimora to stop the process and, after Lilith heals Eda, they go back to the Owl House. One day, as Hooty is defending the house from coven scouts, Eda is making Luz a cloak of witch's wool when her curse acts up, with King and Luz needing to use multiple elixirs to get her back to normal. While Luz is on a field trip to the Emperor's Castle, Eda desires to celebrate Luz's success and King bakes a cake.
Eda then tells them she was cursed as a child by an unknown person and has taken steps to manage it. In season two, Kikimora shows more of her ruthless side as she uses her dragon in an attempt to murder Hunter and take credit for his mission of retrieving palismen. However, upon hearing that she might acquire a long-coveted promotion, she turns on them.
